Mac air cleaners are made of woven cotton fabric folded between two layers of wire mesh screen. The screen & fabric combination creates a grid-like effect which actually straightens and smooths the incoming air as it passes through the filter. Sandwiching the cotton element between the double layer support grid offers not only greater filtration, but also provides Long Life Durability. When taken care of properly you may never need to purchase another air cleaner. Keep them clean and re-oil lightly on a regular schedule. No need to saturate filter when re-oiling.
